Colorado State gains libero transfer from William & Mary

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State Volleyball team adds its second transfer of the year ahead of the 2023 season as Head Coach Emily Kohan announced Tuesday the addition of libero/defensive specialist and William & Mary transfer Anna Porter.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Porter joins the Rams as a fifth-year grad transfer after being a four-year starter for William & Mary. She recorded over 1,000 career digs during her time at William & Mary at the libero position.

"Anna fit in so well with our team and culture from the second we began this process with her," Kohan said. "Her experience in the back court will impact our team immediately. She's a hard worker and feisty competitor, exactly what we like to see in our Ram players."

During her time at William & Mary, Porter played in nearly 300 sets across 80 matches recording 1,179 total digs in her career. Totaling 61 career service aces and coming off a season where she recorded 114 assists from the back row, Porter brings instant experience to the Colorado State roster and will look to provide depth to Colorado State's back row defense.

"CSU checked off so many boxes that I prioritized when on my search for playing in graduate school," Porter said. "The team culture and support are unmatched from any program I have ever seen. The coaches and team seem all to be so caring and competitive, which is exactly what I was looking for. Fort Collins is an unbelievable city with gorgeous views! To add on to all of this, the graduate program seems to be so fascinating and right up my alley. It is pretty easy for me to say that coming to CSU was a no brainer."

Porter will have one year of immediate eligibility ahead of Colorado State's 2023 schedule as academically she pursues her master's degree in Sports Management.
