Rams host Kentucky and Stanford in opening weekend of season

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State volleyball team and Head Coach Emily Kohan announced the Rams' full 2023 volleyball schedule Thursday afternoon as the team now has its full slate of games set for the fall which includes nine NCAA tournament teams, five power five schools and 15 home matches for Colorado State.

The Rams will open up their season with the 2020 National Champion Kentucky Wildcats as Colorado State will also host its annual White Out game on opening day, August 25. Opening weekend will round out with a matchup against the Stanford Cardinal Saturday August 26, as the Cardinal have won three national championships within the last seven years.

Colorado State's one week on the road through non-conference play will begin with a matchup against Northern Colorado Tuesday August 29 before the team travels to the state of Arkansas to play the Arkansas Razorbacks and Michigan Wolverines in Fayetteville before making the short trip down to Conway to play Central Arkansas, all in the span of one week.

The Rams will then return home to host a round-robin tournament themselves including Bowling Green, Pacific and Baylor, who Colorado State will play Saturday September 8 in Moby Arena.

Rounding out non-conference play with the battle for the Golden Spike, the Rams will travel to in-state rival Colorado Thursday September 14 before hosting the Buffaloes in Fort Collins Friday September 15.

Colorado State's Mountain West conference season will begin following non-conference competition as the Rams will open up conference play against the Boise State Broncos September 21 in Boise followed by their conference home opener September 28 against San Diego State.

Finishing third overall in the Mountain West standings last season, the Rams will have notable games against UNLV – last season's regular season conference champion – September 30 at home and November 9 in Las Vegas.

Colorado State will play the defending Mountain West Tournament Champions, Utah State, a part of its conference opening weekend as the Rams will play the Aggies in Logan, Utah September 23 before playing them for a second time in Fort Collins October 26.

The No. 2 overall team in the Mountain West last season, the San Jose State Spartans will travel to Fort Collins October 7 with the Rams making the trip to San Jose November 2.

One of two Border War matchups this season featuring Colorado State versus Wyoming is set for Halloween, Tuesday, October 31 in Fort Collins with the Rams making the trip to Laramie, Wyoming earlier in the season on October 3.
