The All-American Candidate was named to the Watch List for the Nation's Top Player.

FORT COLLINS - Tory Horton, the top returning receiver in the Mountain West and a preseason All-American candidate, has been named to the 2023 Maxwell Award Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced today.

The Maxwell Award has been presented to the College Player of the Year since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert "Tiny" Maxwell who was a former standout at Swarthmore College and a renowned sportswriter and football official.

Horton is one of four players from the league to appear on the watch list, as he is joined by Boise State's George Holani and Taylen Green, and San Jose State's Chevan Cordeiro.

In 2022, his first season with the Rams, Horton tallied 71 catches for 1,131 and eight touchdowns. His yardage ranked eighth in program history while his catches ranked 10th for a single season.
