Kohan welcomes Ferrari to new era of Ram Volleyball ahead of 2023 season

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Head Coach Emily Kohan and the Colorado State volleyball program announced Tuesday the addition of Jon Ferrari to its staff as a third assistant coach leading into the 2023 season.

"I'm excited to have Jon joining the Ramily. He offers a new perspective with his background in men's volleyball and beach, and it's always great to learn from a different voice," Kohan said. "He's a high-level competitor that will bring out the best in our players with his energy and enthusiasm for the game."

With less than a month until Kohan's inaugural season as head coach of the Rams, the Colorado State volleyball program rounds out its coaching staff with the addition of Ferrari who served as an interim assistant coach through the Rams' 2023 spring season.

"I'd like to thank Emily Kohan and Colorado State Volleyball for adding me to this prestigious program," Ferrari said. "With such an experienced staff, passionate fan base and a long legacy of alumni, it was no brainer for me to want to be a part of Ram Country."

Ferrari joins the program's staff coming from the NAIA program of the University of Saint Katherine where he served as head coach of both the men's indoor and beach programs for the 2022 season. Before his time there, Ferrari was also the head coach of the indoor men's program at Westcliff University.

Ferrari's playing experience stems mainly from the beach volleyball world where he played seven seasons apart of the AVP Professional Beach Volleyball league. In 2019, he represented the United States at the NORCECA Championship where he placed fourth with his beach volleyball partner.

Originally from Clovis, California, Ferrari played his collegiate days at Grossmont Community College in El Cajon, California before finishing his degree at the University of Hawaii while competing in the AVP. Ferrari will look to bring another new perspective to the Colorado State coaching staff as this is the first time in program history the Rams will have four full-time coaches on staff.

The Rams will kick off their season against the Kentucky Wildcats for their annual White Out game August 25 at 7 p.m. in Moby Arena.
