Rams Set for Familiar 2023 Schedule

"When designing our cross country schedule, we look for meets that have challenging courses, which allows us to compete against some of the best teams in the country," said first-year head coach Kelly Hart. "Our schedule this year is very similar to last season, as we felt like those meets prepared us well for the conference and national championship."

The season will feature four races during the months of September and October before the Mountain West Championship set for October 27th in Idaho. From there the Rams will look to make a mark at the Mountain Region Championship in Lubbock, Texas in the beginning of November before the NCAA Championships in Charlottesville, Va., a week later.

The Rams return 19 runners from last season, 11 on the women's side and nine on the men. The squads also return five All-Mountain West runners with Annabel Stafford and Sarah Carter for the women and Mason Brown, Lars Mitchel and Tom Oates for the men.

Both teams entered the fifth week ranked in the USTFCCCA National Poll and was just the second time in school history that both teams headed to the Mountain Regional while both nationally ranked. The two squads also made returns to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2004, both earning at-large bids. The women made their 12th appearance, including third consecutive. The men's squad made their 15th appearance and the first since 2018.

The program welcomes 19 newcomers with five freshman and five transfers on the women's team and seven freshmen with two transfers on the men.
