Both Squads Ranked in Regional Rankings

Both cross country teams rank in the top-10 in preseason USTFCCCA Poll
FORT COLLINS – Ahead of the 2023 campaign, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its preseason edition of the regional rankings, voting the Colorado State men's team No. 7 and the women's squad No. 5.

Coming off a 2022 season where both the men and women teams reached the NCAA Championship for the first time in 18 years, both teams were voted lower than the final regional poll of the season – women finished fourth and men at sixth.

The Colorado State women were selected as the preseason favorites by the Mountain West Coaches last week, while the men were tabbed to finish second. The Rams return 18 runners from last season, 10 on the men's side and nine on the men. The squads also return four All-Mountain West runners.

The program also welcomed 16 newcomers with five freshman and three transfers on the women's team and seven freshmen with one transfer on the men.

Colorado State will start the season on Saturday, September 2, running at the Wyoming Invitation in Cheyenne, Wyo., starting at 9:00 p.m.
