Ram ran for second 100-yard game this season

FORT COLLINS. – Colorado State running back Justin Marshall was tabbed the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday morning.

Marshall posted one of his best performances of the season in CSU's 24-10 win over Wyoming in the Border War Game on Friday, rushing for 104 yards on 16 carries while adding a reception for 12 yards. The redshirt freshman from Merrillville, Ind., posted three explosive runs (15-or-more yards), including a 38-yard burst on the second offensive play of the game that set up a Ram touchdown.

His Border War Game performance marked the second time Marshall has reached the century mark this season, doing so in the season opener at No. 4 Texas. Marshall led a backfield that posted 248 yards from scrimmage, which paved the way for bringing the Bronze Boot back to Fort Collins for the first time since 2020.

The Rams are riding a five-game winning streak into this Saturday's road matchup against Fresno State, which kicks off at 8:30 p.m. MT. Colorado State is looking for its eighth win of the season, a feat it has achieved just twice in the last 20 seasons.
