FORT COLLINS – That National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame announced a record number of players named to the 2024 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, with seven Rams making the list.
Â
To make the cut, a player must maintain a 3.2 GPA throughout their collegiate careers. The Colorado State players recognized were Cam Bariteau, Ron Hardge III, Ayden Hector, Mohamed Kamara, Bobby Lawrence, Avery Morrow and Dane Olson. In total, a record 1,989 players across all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football represented 339 programs. The NFF started recognizing players for their academic achievements in 2007.
Â
Bariteau, Hector, Morrow and Olson return to the Rams this season. Currently involved in spring camp, the Rams open the 2024 season Aug. 31 at Texas, a CFP participant last season. Lawrence is still with the team in a graduate assistant role.
Â
Kamara was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 after registering 56 tackles, 17.0 for loss, including 13 sacks, the latter two numbers ranking him in the top 10 for a single season. After finishing his career with 30.5 sacks (No. 2 all-time at CSU), Kamara is currently awaiting the NFL Draft, which will be held April 25-27.
