Colorado State continues conference play with a two game series against New Mexico Lobos

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State softball team (18-15, 1-7 MW) gears up to take on the New Mexico Lobos (10-30, 2-7) in an exciting two-game series scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday at Ram Field, marking the fourth week of conference play.

  • Senior Maya Matsubara maintains her commanding presence at the plate, elevating six spots from the previous week to claim the fourth position in the conference in individual batting average. Matsubara's stellar performance over the weekend showcased her consistency, boasting an impressive 6-10 at the plate with three RBI and a triple.
  • Senior Danielle Serna ranks second in the conference with 12 doubles, showcasing her prowess at the plate. Additionally, she leads the conference in hit by pitches with 16, boasting an on base percentage of .441.
  • Ashley York ranks ninth in the Mountain West in individual batting average with a .375 clip. She also ranks fourth in runs scored with 33 and seventh in total hits with 42.
  • Five Ram seniors surpassed career milestones so far this season with Peyton Allen totaling 500 career at-bats and 100 career RBI, Matsubara and Hailey Smith boasting 100 career hits while York has also notched 500 career at-bats.
  • After a tough 0-3 weekend against San Diego State last weekend, the Rams will look to bounce back on their home turf this weekend.
