Running back claims honors after best game as a Ram.

FORT COLLINS – On the heels of his best performance in a Colorado State uniform, running back Avery Morrow has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning.

Morrow was the spark plug for the Rams' offense in their 27-17 win over UTEP, racking up 156 yards on the ground and two touchdowns while adding two receptions for 20 yards. A graduate student from Seattle, Wash., Morrow delivered the highlight of the night when he broke free for a 73-yard score in the late stages of the second quarter, giving CSU a 14-3 lead going into halftime.

Morrow totaled 21 carries in his first start of the season, the most in his time as a Ram. This is the first 100-yard performance wearing the Green and Gold for Morrow, who had five such outings in his final season at Nevada in 2022.

Colorado State enters its bye week at 2-2 overall, with a matchup at Oregon State waiting on the other side of the break on Oct. 5.
