The Rams have faced Cal Poly 13 times in previous years, with their most recent matchup back in 2020. Last season the Mustangs finished ranked third in the Big West, going 18-8. The Mustangs relied heavily on junior Jessica Clements, who was named the Big West Player of the Year after recording a .464 batting average, leading the team with 71 hits, five home runs and a slugging percentage of .686. Alongside Clements, Julia Barnett was named the Big West Co-Defensive Player of the Year. The Mustangs ranked third in overall hitting percentage in the conference after recording a .289 team batting average. The Mustang's coach, Jenny Condon, was named the Big West Coach of the Year. Cal Poly is predicted to finish fifth in the Big West according to the preseason coaches' polls.Â

The Rams have faced Santa Clara six times in previous years dating all the way back to 2005, with their most recent matchup in 2012. Last season the Broncos finished ranked fourth in Conference USA. They relied heavily on sophomore Hazyl Gray, who had a team-high .333 batting average, recorded eight home runs, was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and was awarded All-WCC First Team. Alongside Gray, freshman Cairah Curran was named the WCC Defensive Player of the Year, while Bailey McLaughlin was named to the All-WCC First Team. Santa Clara is predicted to finish fourth in WCC according to preseason polls.Â

The Rams have faced UIC three times in previous years, their most recent matchup being a five-inning shutout last year, with the Rams winning 11-0. Last season the Flames finished the season ranked eighth in the Missouri Valley Conference. They relied heavily on senior Larisa Villa who recorded a .296 batting average, 48 hits and 17 RBI. In addition to her notable offensive stats, Villa was named to the MVA All-Defensive Team. Alongside Villa, junior Hailey Cowing was named to the All-MVC Second Team. UIC is predicted to finish ninth in MVC according to preseason polls.Â

The Rams have faced UC San Diego once back in 2010. Last season the Tritons finished the season ranked eighth in the Big West. They relied heavily on freshman Lexi O'Gorman who recorded a .314 batting average, 48 hits and 18 RBI. O'Gorman was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team. The Tritons finished the 2024 season ranked seventh in team batting average and ninth in fielding percentage. UC San Diego is predicted to finish sixth in the Big West according to the preseason coaches' polls.Â

Senior Brooke Bohlender was named Waterpik's Student-Athlete of the week after finishing opening weekend with a .615Â batting average with eight hits and recording 15 putouts at first base and catcher with a perfect fielding percentage.

Freshman Autumn Rutherford hit her first career home run in game three of opening weekend against Kansas City. Rutherford finished the weekend with six hits, four RBI and two stolen bases.Â

Sophomore Reagan Wick recorded the first shutout of the season against UC Santa Barbara, with five strikeouts and only three hits allowed.Â

Freshman Kyra Smith also hit her first career home run on her birthday to tie the game 3-3 against New Mexico State.Â

Rams recorded their first run-rule game against Kansas City on February 8 in their third game of the New Mexico State Invitational, taking the win over the Roos in five innings with a final score of 12-4.Â
