Colorado native brings European experience to soccer program

FORT COLLINS –  Colorado native Hope Thao returns to her home state, joining the CSU soccer program in 2025. The Thornton native returns home after spending time in Spain and France playing.

While overseas, Thao had a strong 2022 season with 18 goals and five assists over 15 matches helping FC Fleury 91's under-18 team win promotion.

Before heading overseas, Thao played at Broomfield High School where she earned Academic All-Conference honors and helped the Eagles earn the 2021 5A state title.

Thao is currently playing alongside current Ram Mia Casey on the Northern Colorado Rain of the USL W League this summer.

The forward/midfielder joins a Colorado State program that has qualified for the Mountain West tournament in back-to-back years and advanced to at least the semifinals each season. Last season CSU matched its program record for wins in a season with 12.
