CSU out in Las Vegas for Mountain West Media Days
LAS VEGAS – On the first day of Mountain West Media Days, Colorado State was predicted to finish fourth in polling done by select media members and the coaches, the league announced Tuesday from the Circa Resort and Casino.
The projected finish is the highest for the program since 2017, when the Rams were picked in preseason polling to place second in the Mountain Division, receiving six first-place votes. Colorado State garnered 326 points in the 2025 poll, trailing defending league champion Boise State (464), UNLV (415) and San Jose State (359). The Broncos received 35 of 39 first-place votes, with UNLV receiving four.
The Rams, led by Jay Norvell as he enters his fourth season at the helm, are coming off the program's first bowl-game appearance since 2017. Colorado State won eight games in 2024, the first time the team reached the figure since 2014, when the Rams won 10.
The conference also released the selections for the preseason all-conference team, and for the first time since 2008, there were no Rams selected for the squad.
Colorado State players Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) and Mukendi Wa-Kalonji (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) will meet with the media today, with Norvell doing the same on Wednesday. The team is set to open camp on Aug. 1 in preparation for the season opener on the road at Washington on Aug. 30 (9 p.m. MT).
