CSU junior midfielder finds name on national watch list

FORT COLLINS –  As the 2025 season kicks off, Mia Casey finds her name on another national watch list. The United Soccer Coaches (USC) announced the Hermann Award watch list Thursday morning which included the junior midfielder.

Casey is one of 43 players to be named to the National Player of the Year watch list entering the 2025 season. She was named to the USC Midfield Watch List last week.

Casey is one of the best goal scorers in program history, coming into the season ranked fourth all-time with 12 goals in her career. She led the Rams in goals with seven, all in conference play, as a sophomore. That earned her first team All-Mountain West honors.

The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. It is named in honor of the late Robert Hermann, the legendary St. Louis, Mo., businessman and soccer executive who founded the National Professional Soccer League, the first pro soccer league in the United States which became the North American Soccer League. He was inducted in the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame in 2012.

Colorado State kicks off the 2025 season on August 14 at 7 p.m. when they play host to Utah Tech at the CSU Soccer Field.
