Bentley earns her third win on the season
FORT COLLINS — Colorado State (15-15, 3-2 MW) takes game two against New Mexico (12-18, 0-5 MW) in a shutout win against the Lobos. The Rams capitalized with a four-run sixth inning, highlighted by a home run from Abby Edwards to seal the win.Â

In the second inning, CSU took a 1-0 lead when Autumn Rutherford singled to right center, allowing Kaylynn English to score from second base. The score remained 1-0 after two innings.Â

The game saw little action until the sixth inning, where the Rams' offense exploded. Bradie Poteet-Herrera walked and advanced to second on a single by English. Madi Eslinger, then singled up the middle, driving in Poteet-Herrera and advancing English to third. Rutherford followed with a sacrifice fly, scoring English to extend the lead to 3-0. Abby Edwards capped the inning with a two-run homer, scoring Eslinger and putting the Rams up 5-0.Â

New Mexico failed to score in the seventh, sealing the victory for the Rams. The final score was Colorado State 5, New Mexico 0.Â

Giselle Bentley delivered a commanding performance for the Rams, pitching a complete game shutout over seven innings. She allowed just five hits and two walks while striking out one batter, facing 27 hitters in total. Bentley's control was evident as she threw 101 pitches, 65 of which were strikes and induced 11 groundouts alongside seven flyouts.Â
