LOGAN, Utah - The Colorado State softball team takes the series against Utah State after Friday's doubleheader. The Rams will face the Aggies in one more game on the road Saturday April 24.

Game One: Colorado State, 11 | Utah State, 8

Colorado State (21-24, 9-11 MW) secured an 11-8 victory over Utah State (19-29, 7-13 MW) on Friday at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Softball Field.

Utah State took an early lead in the first inning with five runs, including a grand slam by Jazmin Ramirez. The score was 5-0 in favor of Utah State after the first inning.

In the fourth inning, CSU responded with a three-run rally. Lauren Stucky doubled, followed by an infield single by Jailey Wilson. Bradie Poteet-Herrera then doubled to bring in two runs, and Allyson Moody added an RBI double.

Kyra Smith hit a two-run homer, and Madi Eslinger delivered a two-RBI single, tying the game at 8-8 after seven innings.

In the eighth inning, CSU surged ahead. Autumn Rutherford hit a two-RBI single, and Eslinger added another RBI single, securing the lead.

Andrea Jaskowiak relieved Reagan Wick and provided four and a half innings of work, allowing three earned runs on seven hits while striking out five batters. Giselle Bentley closed the game with a strong performance, pitching three innings, surrendering just one hit and allowing no runs to cross the plate. Bentley's control was evident as she threw 31 strikes out of 57 pitches, contributing to her win-loss record of 7-9.

Game Two: Colorado State, 7 | Utah State, 5

Colorado State (22-24, 10-11 MW) secured a 7-5 victory over Utah State (19-30, 7-14 MW) at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Softball Field on Friday. Colorado State's four-run third inning proved pivotal in the win, overcoming Utah State's late surge in the final innings.

In the second inning, Lindsey Hinson, as a pinch runner, advanced to second on a fielding error and then scored on Jac Smith's RBI single. By the end of the second inning, CSU led 1-0.

The third inning saw significant action as Jailey Wilson walked and Autumn Rutherford hit a two-run homer, extending the lead. Clarissa Castillo later contributed with a two-RBI single. By the end of the inning, the score was 5-0 in favor of the Rams.

In the seventh inning, Utah State managed to score one more run on a groundout, but CSU maintained its lead. The final score was CSU 7, Utah State 5.

Giselle Bentley started the game for the Rams, pitching four and a half innings and allowing three hits with one earned run while striking out one batter. Reagan Wick came in as a reliever, pitching one and a half innings, yielding two hits but no earned runs, securing her second save of the season.

Rutherford recorded two RBI, including a home run, contributing significantly to the team's offensive output. Castillo added two RBI with her single hit. Moody tallied two hits and drove in one run, providing a steady presence at the plate. Wilson scored two runs, showcasing her ability to reach base and impact the game.

CSU has a record of 22-24 and stands at 10-11 in the Mountain West. Utah State holds a 19-30 record with a 7-14 mark in the Mountain West.

Up Next: Colorado State will return to LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Softball Field on Saturday April 25 for its third game of the series against the Aggies at 12:00 p.m.
