2010 (Sophomore): Recorded a 13th-place finish in the 1,500-meter run at the Tom Benich Track and Field Classic (April 3)...Placed 11th in the 10,000-meter run at the MWC championships (May 12).
2009 (Freshman): Michelle started the indoor season at the Air Force All-Comers meet (Jan. 16), where she placed sixth with a time of 5:57.66 in the mile. She claimed fifth place in the 3,000-meters (10:58.32) at the Air Force Collegiate Invitational (Feb. 13). In her first MWC indoor championships, Michelle came in 17th overall in the 3,000-meters (10:53.63). She had a nice outdoor season as well, coming in fourth in the 5,000-meters (17:42.68) at the Arizona State Invitational (March 27). She had an impressive fourth-place finish in the 5,000-meters (17:29.76) at the Oregon Relays (April 23). Michelle finished the season with a 13th-place finish in the 10,000-meters (41:17.12) at the MWC championships.
High School: Michelle was the 3,000-meter city champion from 2005-07, the cross country conference champion in 2006-07 and won the Oregon 6A state championship in 2007. She was a four-time letterwinner in both cross country and track while attending Centennial High School in Gresham, Ore. She holds the school 1,500-meter record (4:42) and the 3,000-meter record (10:06).
Personal: Michelle was born July 3, 1990, to Vicki and Jeff Dettman. She has a younger sister, Andrea. She is majoring inhealth and exercise science.
