Ricky Santo
Ricky Santo is in his seventh season with the Colorado State football program in 2019, and his fourth serving as offensive quality control.

From 2013-15 Santo was an offensive graduate assistant for the Rams, helping coach five players who heard their names called during the NFL Draft and a 2014 squad that set CSU records for average yards per game and total yards in a single game. The 2013-18 seasons have been among the most prolific offensively in Colorado State history, with three Rams receivers earning All-America honors--Rashard Higgins, Michael Gallup and Preston Williams--and six of the top 10 seasons in school history for average yards per game.

Santo earned his master's degree in adult education from CSU in 2015.

He joined the Colorado State staff in 2013 from Ohio State, where he served as offensive line intern during the Buckeyes’ undefeated 2012 season. Santo was part of a staff that produced a 12-0 record, a Big 10 title and a final ranking of No. 3.

Santo worked his way to Ohio State after establishing a well-rounded coaching and teaching career at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla., from 2009-11. He spent all three seasons as an assistant football coach for a program that compiled a 35-4 record and back-to-back District and Metro Conference championships. The 2010 Dr. Phillips team was state runner-up, ranked No. 2 in the state 6A poll and held the No. 22 spot in the final USA Today national high school rankings.

Beginning in 2009, Santo served as defensive line coach (2011), assistant special teams coordinator (2011), assistant linebackers coach (2010), and assistant running backs coach (2009), and was defensive coordinator of the J.V. squad, while also being head coach of the freshman team.

Santo also was head coach of the softball team (2010-11) and head coach of the J.V. baseball team (2010) at Dr. Phillips.

Santo earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering and technology with a specialization in building construction from the University of West Florida (Pensacola) in 2007 and an associate’s degree in business from Florida Community College at Jacksonville.
