BRONZE BOOT INFORMATION
The winner of Saturday's game earns possession of the Bronze Boot trophy, initiated in 1968 by ROTC detachments of both schools. The Bronze Boot was worn in combat in Vietnam by a CSU graduate. The day before the game, CSU's ROTC unit will run the game ball to the state border in one-mile intervals by participants. Wyoming's ROTC unit takes the ball at the border, and runs it to the stadium for presentation to the game officials before kickoff. CSU's detachment will depart from Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium Friday at 6:30 a.m. with the game ball, and will meet Wyoming's group at the border at 1 p.m.

SERIES RESULTS
Colorado State and Wyoming meet for the 98th time Saturday in both school's history. CSU leads the overall series, 53-39-5, and 6-1 in Mountain West Conference play. CSU has a 22-20-4 series edge in Laramie.

LAST MEETING
CSU QB Justin Holland threw for a career-most 419 yards and the Rams forced five turnovers in defeating Wyoming, 39-31 in Fort Collins in 2005 before 32,801 fans at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium. Runningback Kyle Bell gained 123 yards on 35 carries behind the play of Holland. CB Darryl Williams scored CSU's first touchdown on a 27-yard interception return.

TROPHY GAMES
Colorado State competes for three different travelling trophies each year, including this week's game for the Bronze Boot with Wyoming. The winner of the CSU-Colorado game earns possession of the Centennial Cup, and the winner of CSU's annual game with Air Force gains possession of the Ram-Falcon Trophy.

33 STARTERS
Thirty-three CSU players have started at least one game in 2006, including 11 each on offense and defense and two kickers.

INJURED STARTERS
To date, CSU players have missed a total of 28 combined games played. Of that total, 20 games missed have been by starters, not including those players listed as doubtful or questionable for this week's game.

CHANGING FACES
Only one offensive lineman - OT Clint Oldenburg - has started all six games to date. The five opening-day starters played only one game together. A total of eight players have started along the offensive line thus far in 2006. Colorado State has used four different starting interior line combination in six games.

TRUE FROSH
Colorado State used a total of three true freshman in 2005, and six during the 2004 season. To date, CSU has yet to use a true freshman in the 2006 lineup.

DRIVE TIME
Colorado State has had 10 drives of 10 or more plays in 2006, and scored touchdowns on five of those drives.

BY COMPARISON
Through six games in 2006 Colorado State is allowing opponents 267.2 yards per game, second best in the MWC and 15th nationally. By comparison, through six games in 2005, the Rams were allowing 430.7 yards per game, ninth in the league and 99th nationally.

HANIE HURLER
For the second time in 2006, QB Caleb Hanie completed more than 80 percent of his passes in a game. Hanie completed 23-of-28 passes (82 percent) in the win over UNLV, the third highest figure in school history. Hanie set the school record earlier this season in a win over Colorado when he completed 20-of-23 passes (87 percent). Hanie's 23 completions in the win over UNLV is a career high.

HANIE FIRST START
Rams' QB Caleb Hanie made his first career start in 2004 against Wyoming. Hanie had replaced an injured Justin Holland the week before during CSU's 21-17 win at San Diego State. A week later, Hanie debuted as the CSU starter in CSU's 30-7 Border War win in Fort Collins. He completed 11-of-22 passes for 167 yards.

FIRST QUARTER SUCCESS
Three times in six games, CSU and its opponent have concluded the first quarter with the game tied. CSU is 3-0 in those three games.

OCTOBERFEST
Colorado State, including the win over UNLV, is now 42-15 in Sonny Lubick's 14 seasons during the month of October.

KAYLOR LEADS LEAGUE
CSU P Jimmie Kaylor, a first-team all-conference choice in 2005, currently leads the MWC in punting with a 45.8 yard average. He is fourth nationally. Kaylor is listed on the Ray Guy Award watch list.

KAYLOR ON CAREER LIST
P Jimmie Kaylor currently is atop the school's list for career punting average. In 2005 he led the MWC and ranked fourth nationally in punting average, 45.3. Kaylor has 16 career punts of 50 yards or longer, and five longer than 60 yards. He has also had 20 career punts downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. In his career, Kaylor has punted 83 times for 3,763 yards, a 45.3 yard average. Nine times in his career he has averaged 45 yards or more per punt in a game.

NATIVE STATE
Four Colorado State players hail from the state of Wyoming. OT Clint Oldenburg (Gillette) is a three-year starter; OT Dane Stratton (Cheyenne) has played extensively in 2006, as has DE Bob Vomhof (Gillette), who has been a part-time starter. S Ben Stratton, a senior (Cheyenne) has been hampered recently by a neck injury. Stratton has been a starter throughout his four-year career, including twice in 2006.

SUDDEN CHANGE
Colorado State has made 10 turnovers in six games. Following those 10 turnovers, CSU has allowed just 16 points (three field goals, one touchdown and point-after). CSU has generated seven takeaways, and scored 24 points (three touchdowns and ensuing point-after, one field goal) following the turnovers.

HALL OF FAME NOV. 3
Six new members will join Colorado State's sports hall of fame during ceremonies Nov. 3 at the Hilton of Fort Collins. Bryan Berryhill (track and field), Ivan Dykeman (track and field), Floyd Kerr (men's basketball), Angela Knopf (volleyball), and Mark Mullaney (football) form the class of 2006. CSU volleyball coach Tom Hilbert will receive the Hall of Fame Award. The banquet begins at 5:30 p.m., They will be recognized at the Rams' football game Nov. 4 against BYU. Sack Exchange
Colorado State enters Saturday's game with 16 quarterback sacks through six games, just three shy of the team's season total, 19, in 2005. The top two season figures in school history, 34 in each, were in 1994 and '97.

NONE PAST TWO
After garnering 16 sacks the first four games of the season, Colorado State has been sackless the past two contests.

Safety Sacks
Mike Pagnotta has three sacks on the season to lead the Rams. The last Ram defensive back with four sacks is a season was former S John Howell in 1999. Howell later played on two Super Bowl teams in the NFL with Tampa Bay and Seattle.

RUSHING LEADER
RB Gartrell Johnson has led the team in rushing four times in six games. Johnson gained a season and career-most 75 yards in CSU's game with Air Force, the third consecutive contest he has established a new career high..

Special Teams Streaks
The Rams have returned 207 kickoffs without a touchdown since Sept. 29, 2001 when Dexter Wynn scored on a kickoff return at Wyoming.

FIRST-TIME STARTERS
Twelve Colorado State players have made their first career starts in 2006, including OT Dane Stratton and S Jake Galusha. Both appeared in the opening-play lineup for the first times in their respective careers.

TOUCHDOWN RATIO
WR Dustin Osborn caught three passes for a team-best 86 yards including a 60-yard touchdown pass from QB Caleb Hanie in CSU's game at Air Force. It was Osborn's first scoring play of the season. He leads CSU with one touchdown per seven receptions, while HB Kory Sperry averages a touchdown every 6.7 receptions. As a team, the Rams average one passing touchdown every 20.7 receptions. QB Caleb Hanie has established himself as one of the most accurate passers in school history. Through six games, Hanie has completed 101-of-144 passes for 1,345 yards and seven touchdowns. He has completed 70.1 percent of his passes. Already twice this season, Hanie has copleted more than 80 percent of his passes in a game, including a school-record 87 percent (20-of-23) in the Rams' win over Colorado. He connected on his first 14 attempts in that game. Earlier this season, he also completed 82.1 percent of his attempts (23-of-28) against UNLV, including his first nine in a row. 1,000-YARD RECEIVERS
WR Dustin Osborn became the 18th player in school history with more than 1,000 career receiving yards during CSU's game with Air Force. Osborn has 59 career receptions for 1,008 yards and 10 touchdowns, his most recent coming on a 60-yard toss from QB Caleb Hanie against AFA. Teammate Kory Sperry is close to reaching the plateau, with 71 career receptions for 943 yards and nine touchdowns.

SAFETY TACKLES
S Klint Kubiak had a career-most 19 tackles in CSU's game with Air Force, the most this season by any player on the roster, and most since S Miles Kochevar had 16 tackles against Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl to conclude the 2005 season.

EXPLOSIVES
Through six games, Colorado State has 39 "explosive" plays, including:
