Mountain West announces academic all-conference honorees

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A record number of 101 Colorado State student-athletes earned academic all-conference accolades for their work in the classroom during the spring season. The conference announced the spring 2014 Academic All-Mountain West team on Monday.
Up from 87 last year and 68 the year prior, the 101 student-athletes honored by the MW compete in nine sports at CSU: men's basketball (one), women's basketball (12), men's golf (four), women's golf (five), softball (11), women's swimming and diving (19), women's tennis (six), men's track and field (20) and women's track and field (23).
CSU's total ranks second in the Mountain West, and gives the Rams 148 selections throughout the 2013-14 academic year.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at Colorado State while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on his/her team.
