FORT COLLINS, Colo.--Saturday's final football game at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium will be a night to remember. Before, during and after the Rams' nationally-televised 8:15 p.m. game against New Mexico (ESPN2), fans in attendance will have the opportunity to be part of this historic event to pay final respects and officially take part in the closing of the Colorado State University's off-campus football stadium that opened in 1968.

Known as Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium since 2003, the stadium has played host to 261 Colorado State football games in its 49 years. It has seen 145 Rams victories and two ties. Next season, Colorado State University will open its new multi-purpose on-campus stadium, and bring football back to campus for the first time since Nov. 25, 1967.
Saturday night, fans, former players and coaches, and everybody who has experienced games, concerts or other events at Hughes Stadium will have one final chance to celebrate those memories while creating a home-field advantage on Senior Night for a 5-5 Rams team that is seeking a victory against co-Mountain West Mountain Division-leading New Mexico (7-3, 5-1 MW) to become bowl-eligible for the fourth year in a row.
