Several defensive standouts highlight second day of camp
"Overall, it was a good day," Bobo said. "I'll have to go back and watch the film, but I thought the energy and effort was there. I thought the guys worked hard."
Among the standouts that Bobo praised after practice was graduate transfer defensive back Jordan Fogal.
"What I see in Jordan Fogal is a guy that knows how to practice," Bobo said of the Utah transfer. "He understands what full speed is every snap. He understands where to get in coverage and he understands breaks on the ball. He's got instincts. That guy has been somewhere that he needs to compete for playing. It's evident."
The linebacker position has been a strength of the Rams for years, and 2017 looks to be no different. While Bobo has high expectations for the returning starters, he acknowledged that they're still working to establish depth at the position.
"I feel good about our 'buck' (linebacker) in Evan Colorito, I feel good about Deonte Clyburn, I feel good about Josh Watson and I feel good about Tre Thomas," Bobo stated. "I feel good about Kiel Robinson being able to fill in at any one of those spots. Other than that, we've got a lot of work to do to find some depth."
The Rams will be back for practice No. 3 tomorrow, donning shells for the first time this season. Follow @CSUFootball on Twitter for updates and check CSURams.com after each practice for exclusive content.

Aug. 5 Community Open House and scrimmage
August 5, 2017, will be a day of celebration for Colorado State University and the Fort Collins community. Several major events will come together around the much-anticipated first public look inside the new, on-campus multipurpose stadium, highlighted by CSU's annual Community Open House.
Â
Events are scheduled throughout the day in the vicinity of the stadium. Inside, the Colorado State football team will hold an open practice, presented by Scheels, to allow fans to get their first look at Mike Bobo's 2017 team and also experience the stadium for the first time. Tickets are free, but must be claimed at the stadium ticket office on Aug. 5 to allow entry into the venue. The clear bag policy will be in effect for all fans entering the stadium, and Scheels will distribute 5,000 clear bags at stadium gates.
