FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Junior middle blocker, Paulina Hougaard-Jensen had herself a night in Moby Arena as she set new career-highs in hitting percentage (.727) and kills (16), both of which led Colorado State in a sweep over Utah State on Saturday.
Colorado State started the match with four-consecutive points before extending its lead to 10-2 early. The Rams' offense was running on all cylinders as it cruised to a 25-15 win in the first set, while hitting a match-high .515 and posting an 80-percent sideout mark. QUOTES
Head Coach Tom Hilbert's opening statement…
It was a very complete match for us tonight and the middles were great. It was a career-high hitting efficiency and kills for Paulina Hougaard-Jensen tonight. We really used her well tonight, but I didn't feel like we were blocking great through the first set and into the second. We started getting better in the middle of the second and started getting more stuffs, which was good. We served very well and we've really found a good comfort level with serving here in Moby. We need to take that on the road with us, and I think we'll be in great shape."
Hilbert on the success of spreading out the attack…
"We have certain key matchups we look for; things we want to exploit that other teams do. But, we still want to get everybody involved in a match – I think that's really critical. There was a lot of good distribution all over the place night, which was good."
