No. 11 Rams Outlast Spartans

Colorado State secured its outright MW Championship with a five-set match at San Jose State.
SAN JOSE, Calif. – No. 11 Colorado State outlasted San Jose State in a five-set match to keep its 26-match winning streak alive and perfect Mountain West record. The Rams also secured its 21st Mountain West Championship outright with the win.
MATCH NOTES
- The Rams won their 26th consecutive match, including 17 in the Mountain West to remain undefeated in the league
- The win also gave CSU its 21st (16th regular season) Mountain West championship outright
- Colorado State played a five-set match for just fourth time this season and is 4-0 in matches that go the distance
- Kirstie Hillyer led the Rams' offense with 21 kills, second most of the Ram this season, and hitting .543.
- Katie Oleksak dished out 50 assists in the win and added eight digs and four kills
- Breana Runnels reached double figure kills for the 23rd time this season with 16 and dropped in a team-high three aces
- Paulina Hougaard-Jensen contributed 10 kills and put up four blocks, along with Hillyer
- Hillyer floored five kills in the final set, including scoring four of the last five points for the Rams

Colorado State will finish its Mountain West schedule at Nevada on Saturday night. The Wolf Pack suffered a five-set loss Thursday night against Wyoming.
