Casey Awarded Offensive Player of the Week

FORT COLLINS - Mia Casey has been a standout offensive player for Colorado State women's soccer and named this week's Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference.

She had two goals and three assists as the Rams stayed undefeated in conference play defeating San Jose State and Fresno State.

In Thursday's matchup against San Jose State, Casey assisted both goals, recording two shots and one shot on goal herself.

Sunday's game against Fresno State, she found the back of the net twice, bringing her total for the season to three. Following her two goals, she assisted Avery Vander Ven's header in the 48th minute. Her performances in both matches secured the win for the Rams and maintained their undefeated record in conference play.

Casey has totaled 841 minutes this season, 33 shots, eight shots on goal, four assists, and three goals.

This award is Casey's first Offensive Player of the Week honor and second weekly award after earning MW Freshman of the Week last year.

CSU continues Mountain West play this week with two more home games. First against Boise State on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m., and then against Utah State on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m.
