CSU splits for trio of meets after successful home campaign
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State track and field will hit the road for the first time this outdoor season, sending their distance runners to a pair of meets in California while the rest of the team looks to Las Vegas.

- Cameron Kalaf showed out in his first outdoor action as a Ram, recording personal bests in the hammer throw with an impressive 60.74-meters/199-feet 3 and the javelin with a 63.74/209-1. The Colorado Mesa transfer competed in five indoor events, only participating in the weight throw. Â
- Freshman Travis Turner set the track ablaze last Saturday at the Jack Christiansen Invitational, recording a 46.76 to finish first place in his outdoor debut. Turner was awarded both the Mountain West Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Freshman of the Week awards for his performances. Turner currently sits in a tie for 40th in the nation in the 400 and is third in the MW. Â
- The Rams' distance cohort will have the opportunity to tests its abilities at sea level when they compete in California this weekend. Michael Mooney and Anna Petr each impressed in the 3,000 during the indoor season, with the latter running a 9:04.49 in Seattle to break the program record.Â
- Freshmen jumpers Ndayiragije Shukurani and Annastasia Murphy are each looking to build off of their impressive outdoor debuts from this past weekend. Shukurani won the men's high jump with a mark of 2.08/6-9.75, while Murphy took third on the women's side by jumping 1.71/5-7.25. Â
