Alex Bailey
Alex Bailey was named Colorado State's wide receivers coach in February 2021.

Bailey joined Colorado State after six seasons at Ball State where he last served as the wide receivers position coach and recruiting coordinator. Under his direction, receiver Justin Hall was named All-MAC all four years of his career and finished as the nation's active leader in career receptions.

The Cardinals concluded their 2020 season with their first MAC championship since 1996 and first-ever final ranking in both the Associated Press Top 25 and Coaches Poll.

Bailey also worked with two of the most prolific wide receivers in Ball State history in KeVonn Mabon and Jordan Williams. Under his guidance, Mabon was the team's co-MVP in 2016 and set a school record for career receptions (244) in the season finale. He left Ball State ranked third on the program's career receiving yardage chart (2,862). Williams concluded his career ranked fourth in career receptions and receiving yards.

Prior to his time at Ball State, Bailey spent one season at Wayne State (2014) and two seasons at Valparaiso (2012-13) where he was the wide receivers coach, passing game coordinator, and recruiting coordinator. From 2010-11, Bailey coached four all-conference players at Dayton and helped the Flyers to a 10-1 record in 2010 and the Pioneer Football League championship. At Defiance, where he coached from 2007-09, Bailey developed Luke Dillion into an honorable mention D3Football.com All-American in 2007.

Bailey received his undergraduate degree in 2007 from Youngstown State and his graduate degree from Defiance in 2009. He and his wife, Melissa, have four children: sons Dash and Hitter and daughters Navy and Mercy.
