Rams Remain Unblemished with Home Sweep

Colorado State recorded its fifth sweep at home in Mountain West to remain perfect.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State remained unblemished in their home Mountain West schedule, as it picked up yet another sweep on Saturday afternoon against Air Force. The Rams have recorded sweeps in all five home conference matches as they improve to 11-6 overall and 7-1 in the league.

CSU cruised out to a 10-4 lead in the first after a 6-0 run. From there the Rams handled the Falcons, sprinting to a 25-14 first-set victory, including closing the frame on a 5-0 run. Air Force recorded a match-high 10 attacking errors in the first to hit .000, while Colorado State floored 12 kills and had a match-low three errors.

The second was more of the same. The Rams took a 13-8 lead and never looked back. Air Force managed to get within two at 19-17, but CSU handled the rest, taking the set 25-19.

After intermission, the Falcons came out strong taking a 4-0 early lead, but that didn't last long. Colorado State manufactured an 8-0 run to take an 11-6 advantage. The rest was smooth sailing, as the Rams closed the match with the third set, 25-15. CSU hit a match-high .345 in the final set, including flooring 14 kills.

For the match, Colorado State finished with an impressive 75.5% sideout mark and hitting .326. Air Force was kept to just a .047 tally and had 25 attack errors. Colorado State put up four blocks, led by Kennedy Stanford, Karina Leber and Sasha Colombo, all with two. Ciera Pritchard dished out 29 assist and added four digs. Alexa Roumeliotis reached double-figures with 15 digs. Kennedy Stanford finished with 11 kills and hitting .304 to lead the Rams.

Colorado State will head to San Diego State for a Thursday night match before returning to Moby Arena and hosting UNLV on Saturday.
