Colorado State Nabs Transfer from Iowa State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Fort Collins native Taylor Bee is returning home to play for Colorado State after playing four years for Iowa State University, CSU head coach Keeley Hagen announced Tuesday.

Bee is the fourth transfer to join the Rams for the 2022 season along with Megan Demski (Loyola Chicago), Hale Otto (Georgia), and Katy Coffin (Kansas State). With the addition of Bee, there are now seven new student-athletes joining the Rams, including the incoming freshmen Jessica Shivers, Mia Massey, and Ishana Sandhu.

"We are looking forward to have a local on our roster," Hagen said. "Taylor brings a wealth of experience coming from Iowa State. She's been battle tested in the Big 12 and we are thrilled to have her join our roster this fall."

The 5'6'' defender has helped anchor the Cyclone defense for her entire career, playing 67 games with 53 starts including 50 straight starting nods. She was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team and led the team with a total of 1,547 minutes her senior year. She was one of three Cyclones to start all 17 games in 2021, playing 90+ minutes in all but one game. She also had 11 shot attempts, seeing her best game against Drake that season with four shots, two of them being on goal. The COVID 2020-21 season closely mirrored her production of her senior campaign. Even as a sophomore in 2019, she tallied a team-leading 1,634 minutes, primarily as a center back. Her lone goal came as a freshman and was a game winner against rival Iowa.

Bee followed in her parents' footsteps of being a collegiate student-athlete. Her father, Christopher Bee, played soccer at McKendree University (1985-1989) and her mother, Maureen Bee, ran Track and Field at Missouri State (1985-1989).

Before Iowa State, Bee played at Poudre High School where she was a four-time All-Conference selection and led her school in goals (8) and assists (5) as a junior to garner an All-State selection. She also earned 1st team all-conference, honorable mention all-state, and team captain while playing for Poudre. She played club soccer with Arsenal Colorado where they were 5-time state champions. Arsenal were U.S. Youth Soccer National Champion Finalists and earned U.S. Youth Soccer and Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Team honors. In 2017, she was named the Colorado State Cup Most Valuable Player for U18.

Bee said about returning to Fort Collins, "I'm also for sure a homebody, so I've been missing Fort Collins for a while. I'm overall excited for the opportunity to play at home, for an amazing group of coaches, and hopefully make some new friends along the way!"

She will be graduating this may at Iowa State and will have one year eligibility in the green and gold.
